How can I exclude X10 adresses

I have all but converted my House to UPB.

I have 4 X10 chime modules that controll the garage doors and my RFXCOM motion detectors and that is it.

How do I get rid of all the GARBAGE X10 stuff My 1132CU USB interface keeps "Seeing"?
    Lost of stuff Like...

    7/6/2009 12:28:40 PM - X10 Received - G7 (?) G7 (?) G7 (?) G7 (?) G7 (?) G Preset Dim 6
    7/6/2009 12:32:36 PM - X10 Received - J Status Request

    and other garbage....

My 4 devices are G1,G2,G3,G4...I would like to Exclude ALL other X10 stuff (except the RFXCOM Motions)

    Is this do-able?

i don't think there is a magic bullet to solve this other than some of the x10 firewalls i have seen.

i think your best bet is to identify the source(s) and fix the problem.

do the usual and turn off circuits one by one until the bad x10 signals go away and then find the noisy device on that circuit. then you can put an x10 filter on the device.

some obvious devices to check first are refrigerators, washing machines, treadmills, window ac units or other appliances with motors, computers, UPSs, and other electronics.

    good luck

we went that route originally, Put chokes on all the noisy things, put filter on the incooming power lines, and it just wasn't enough. Most of the noise is external, but it is "loud" enough the Filters can't surpress it enough...

Thats why we went UPB...No, none, nada, ziltch, stray signals...

BUT...I have the 4 remaining Chime modules that are open/close for two doors.... I can get I/O modules, but they seem overkill if I can just get rid of the garbage since I know EXACTLY what 4 units I have....G1,2,3 & 4

are you trying eliminate the noise or just keep hs from logging the bogus x10 signals?

if you just want to stop the logging, you will need to create dummy x10 devices (1 for each address you see) and set the device to "no logging" on the device property page. not sure about filtering out the "J status request" msgs

I do want HS to stop logging, but the addresses that come in are RANDOM...

In the log right now is stuff like...

In all of that there actually WAS a real event for one of my Motions...

I only have 4 X10 devices left, and they are CHIME modules G1,2,3 &4 and they don't Xmit at all...

So How do I get HS to stop logging everything BUT G1,2,3 & 4 ??

what plugin are you using with your RFXCOM?

if you are using the ACRF2 plug-in make sure 'retransmit' x10 cmds is unchecked. this can be found on the plug-ins Housecode page. also, you may want to "Disable Entirely" housecodes you don't use.

no sure if the rfxcom plugin has options like this

I use the ACRF2 plug-in for all my Motions.

I mis-wrote, all my Motions are the MS10's and they show up as ACRF devices ([9, [10 etc...) and not as X10 devices...

Other than occasionally going to sleep, I like the MS10's.

My suggestion would be to get rid of every wired X10 device and then discard the interface module to the power line. You have the worst environment for X10 I've ever heard of. You must be a saint to have put up with it! I'd have put a bullet in the interface after a week or two (figuratively speaking, of course).

are you sure the random x10 signals aren't coming in via the acrf2? do you have the settings "ignore" and "don't retransmit" already in place in the acrf2.

i don't think hs2 has any type of ignore x10 logging options.

I have (gotten rid of X10)....

Unfortunately there is no direct replacement for the Chime Module...

I have 4 of them... Door 1 up, door 1 down, door 2 up and door 2 down.

Thanks to a magnetic switch sending a "close" when the door is already closed doesn't open it... YEA!

However, to do the same with UPB I need either TWO (2) expensive I/O modules, or a Rain8UPB module and waste 4 ports... and that option is also expensive...

I assume you've tried unplugging the X10 line interface to confirm that the spurious X10 traffic disappears from the log.

Have you considered using a (UPB) relay to connect your X10 interface just before you send a command to one of the chime modules, then disconnect it again? Not elegant, but less expensive than the other options you mentioned.
