Activate Infrared option on Squeezebox plugin

    Hello,

I saw that there is an option for the infrared on the Squeezebox plugin ...

I want to activate it, but it doesn't want. it's normal ?

I miss something , or need to connect something before ?

Thanks a lot for any help ...

Yes the plug-in has support for HS2 IR support. Note that HS2 only allows for one IR plug-in to provide IR support. Also when enabling in the interfaces setup page, make sure you use IE (Not Firefox for example) as HS2 might not recognize the correct plug-in (if you use Firefox it cuts some characters from the plug-in name choosen as the one supporting IR).

Once enabled you can use the standard HS2 IR screens to configure IR support (through ensure you use an IR remote that can be detected by your SqueezeBox player). To send IR signals, you need to first install the SqueezeBox IR Blaster plug-in; see the SqueezeBox plug-in and IR Blaster documentation for details.

      Hi, tks for your answer.

But i'm not sure that i understand exactly :

      >>> SqueezeBox IR Blaster plug-in; see the SqueezeBox plug-in and IR Blaster documentation for details.

Actually with IE, i 've just activated the IR plugin in Squeezebox : and i have the little interface joined on the screeshot. It's that ?

I have a Harmony 895 IR remote and my IR remote for the air conditioner. In fact i just want to send IR signals to my air conditioner with the DUET squeezebox. I don't see and IR Blaster plugin on the list of HS2 addons packages ....

      I' correct ? ( i'm not sure about this ).

Yes this is the HS2 screen to configure IR signals.

I believe that the DUET does not support IR signals (Receiving and sending) only SB3 and Boom and instead uses the WIFI remote control. Also I recall that sending signals using the Squeezecenter IR Blaster plug-in is only supported on SB3 players not the DUET (see http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/IRBlaster). I don't believe what you are trying to do can be done with the DUET, only SB3 players.
