Insteon Lighting Plug-In v1.2.2.2 for PLM & PLC

    Changes
    - the device links are now sorted by the type of link, not the link number. I hope this makes them more readable. Thus the link numbers will be out of sequence. I will probably put in an option to switch between this view and the original in the next release. feedback welcome.

    Fixes
    - resolves the 'unknown button name' issue. Please delete any existing links or dup links in devices that are having problems and reprogram the device. There is no need to remove the device and readd just delete the bad links.

As always, backup your setup before installing the new version.

    Mark:

That fixed the unknown problem. Now the only problem I see is on the Map Device connections page. Please see post 18

if this is the first time you have every installed the hspi_insteon.dll plugin, do the following:

shutdown hs, copy the hspi_insteon.dll to your homeseer directory, create a blank insteon.ini file in the config subfolder, then restart homeseer. you'll need to enable the plugin from the hs setup/interface page.

if you are just upgrading, just shutdown hs, copy the hspi_insteon.dll to your homeseer directory, then restart hs.

          hope this helps

            Hi Mark,

I've install that new version and after deleting my group to start over, I click the managed groups button and define my first group. It all seem to work.

But when I go back to managed groups again, there is no list. Only the Add new group button...

I tried again, and this time the group was there. So I created the other and it's there too... Strange.

did you restart hs anytime during these tries?

maybe there is a bug when you only have one group definited but not with two

                i'll check

i don't think the Map Device Connection Page was every right (even in v1.1.52) based on the links i have. I will add your request to the list.

                  thanks for the support.

The "Edit Insteon Device" page allows you to set a new On Level and Ramp Rate, however it doesn't show the default ramp-rate (only default local on level), is it possible to display the default ramp rate below the default on level?

I did a refresh of my devices and it re-configured the KeypadLinc to the 8-button style automatically (cool), so my previous other post can be ignored.

                        Other questions on supported devices:
-Thermostat Adapter (appears as Unknown Device Type 0503)
-IRLinc (appears as Unknown Device Type 0306)
-SmartLinc (appears as Unknown Device Type 0310)

Is it worth replacing my current PLC-USB with a PLM-Serial for purposes of possible future expansion before I get too carried away with programming HS2 using the PLC?

                        Thanks in advance!

once you set the onlevel or ramprate, the dropdowns will default to these new values. remember to powercycle the switches so the settings will take affect.

as far as the other unknown devices, for now, there is a script to support the thermostat. The smartlinc, probably not, it seems redundent to HS. and the IRLinc maybe but it might be worth writing a script for now.

As far the PLC, it seems to be keeping up with the PLM regarding functionality. But Smarthome is starting to release i2 only devices (ie triggerlinc and motion sensors) and I am not sure if the plc will support them.

I'm working on adding the triggerlinc to the plugin, so we should know something soon.

I made some changed regarding the data saved when creating default links.

so deleting all the links is only necessary if you end up with duplicate links after using the 'program use with hs' btn on an existing device. This is the easiest way to get rid of the old links otherwise they will continue to show instead of just the new ones.

                              hope this helps
