    JRiver integration

This is what I am trying to accomplish. I have a CAV6 and I use JRiver to control my music collection. I was able to interface the system via a small application called CAV6.6. This was nice put it tied up the only serial port and I was unable to interface it to HS. So when HS came out with their Russound plugin and JRiver plugin, I thought I was in heaven. But I was not able to see the JRiver as an option to be displayed on my Uno-S2 like the little CAV6.6 application. I like the fact that I can control my Russound via HS but not happy that I can not see my music on the control pads.

After the long winded explaination, is this something that BLRussound can do???

    Thanks

    Mike

BLRussound will allow you to specify a HS event, script command or script to run for any button press for each source on the keypad.
My brother in law uses this to control MusicLobby from his Russound keypad when the zone is on the MusicLobby source.

Is this what you are after?
    Cheers,

      Bob:

Yes, to be able to control and see my album\song\playlist that are in JRiver MC though the keypads . The cav66.exe let me do that but took up the only serial port on the CAV and I was unable to interface it to HS.

HS stated that the Russound and JRiver plugin would be integrated. I would select JRiver as a source device, just like my Russound AM/FM receiver. But that never happened.

      So I am stuck.

      Thanks

      Mike

There is a scripting call in the plugin called SendMessageSource that allows you to send a message to all keypads that are set to a specific source. This should allow you to set the song info.

The source options will allow you to control the Jriver plugin using the Russound keypad buttons.

I think everything is there that you will need.
Give it a try and see.

Mike, I hate to be posting to a 6+ year old thread but just wondering how you made out with your JRiver songs on the keypads. Did you get it working?

I am a long time JRiver user and am just testing this with an MCA C5.

I had set up a buddy years ago with his CAV66 and JRiver using the little CAV66 plugin that was floating around. I still have that and tried using it with the C5 and interestingly enough the little CAV executable is displaying the Russound info in the app (including the song name on the keypad) but it not physically showing up on the keypad. .. (yet)

Anyway just curious if you had any further insights with the Plugin and some more robust JRiver integration.
          Cheers!
          Darren
