    Groups and Multiple Controllers?

Is there a way in which to program a group to be controlled by multiple controllers? For example, I have a night scene button that is located on two KeypadLincs. Is it possible for both buttons to turn on and off the group?

currently this does not exist for a registered insteon group.

but can i ask exactly what you want to happen in the plugin regarding this scenario.

Of course you can ask.. )))

I have created a group called "Night Scene". As the name implies, this is used to setup the correct lighting for the evening after the sun sets. Such actions include setting the family-room rights to the right level, turning on hall-way lights etc.

Throughout the house I have a number of KeyPadLincs - one at the front entry, one at the garage entry, etc. I would like to be able to assign one button on each KeyPadLinc to operate the group. So if someone comes in the front, they can push the "night scene" button, or conversely, if they come in the garage entry, they can do the same.

I realize I can do this using events within HS. However, that now makes each button action dependent on a computer. While generally I'm sure this would be fine, my wife isn't impressed when things "don't work". So I want to make sure not to loose ground on my WAF (thus far, she's been very accepting of my efforts).

I'm open to suggestions on how else to setup this type scenario using a different approach.

      Appreciate the help.

I have a very similar setup.

I would suggest using two insteon groups: one group that controls all the lights and the other kpl btn from one kpl as the controller and a second group that controls the same lights and the first kpl btn from the second kpl btn as the controller.

this way even if hs is running, your night scene will work the same regardless of which kpl btn triggers the scene.

even if you didn't have hs, you would still need to setup two different scenes on the insteon network like i described above, the plugin just makes it much easier.

if/when i add the ability to have multiple controllers per insteon group/scene, you will still end up with two sets of links like i described. This is how insteon works.
