Main objective: To be able to control lighting and other devices from iphone
Bump: HSC2 terminal program not controlling anything.
Description of devices:
cm11a activehome(x10) device.
x10 transceiver and lamp module
windows xp service pack 3
I am not very program development/script savvy
I plan on using this device to control the lighting from my iphone over wifi. From what i understand, in order to do that first I need to be able to control devices using computer, Then i need to incorporate that working program into php script and access it over the internet. From searching and reading around i figured that i need a terminal program or software development program. I tried activehome SDK but it didn't work, some ppl said it doesn't work with cm11a some say it does. SO i found homeseer (it says that it supports cm11a) at the bottom of homeseer download page http://www.homeseer.com/downloads/.
I downloaded:
Command Line Tool for HSC2 and
CM11a ActiveX Control (control and samples only)
Cm11a activex control has a project1.exe file in the zipfile. Its an application that works when i change the default com port from 2 to 1.
But command line HSC2.exe doesn't work. and i understand i need this to work in order to be able to control devices from iphone/internet. when i run hsc2 in terminal nothing happens.
Please Help... all suggestions and solutions are welcome. I am new to this all this so detailed instructions will be very helpful. Thank you in advance
