    Error at startup

    Hi Reid,

I just installed the OpenSprinkler 2.1 unit. I can turn my irrigation valves on and off using the OpenSprinkler web interface (192.168.1.101), but I'm unable to control the valves from the BeakerRain plugin in HS2.

The plugin created devices ]1 - ]8 and ]99. The status of the ]99 device is Not Responding.

An error is displayed in the HS log file when starting HS.

    This is my ini file.

Do you see any problems with my configuration?

Could you please post the hspi_beakerrain_debug.txt file?

For some reason the plugin isn't reading the IP Address from your ini file. Check to see if there are any stray characters on the IPAddress line such as spaces or tabs in your ini file.

If that doesn't take care of the problem, set the HSDebugLevel to Verbose and restart HomeSeer. Check to see if verbose log statements are written to the HS log file. If not then there is a problem reading the ini file.

Looks like I'm back in business, my irrigation is turning on and off normally. I typed a new ini file from scratch and BeakerRain is now starting normally. I must have fat-fingered something in the ini file when I initially configured the plugin.

I've been wanting to move my irrigation system off of the X10 Rain8Net controller to something more reliable. I occasionally have problems sending X10 signals to the side of my house where the irrigation controller is located. The IP-based OpenSprinkler and BeakerRain looks like a good solution. Thank you for creating the plugin!

You're welcome, and I'm glad you got it working. I'm also working on the HS3 version, but having trouble with mcsSprinklers compatibility at the moment (it seems to stomp on the BeakerRain devices).

I'm glad you are working on an HS3 version of BeakerRain, but things seem a bit unsettled over in HS3 land. I think I'll stay in my calm HS2 world until the HS3 forum becomes quiet and boring. That will be my sign that it's safe to upgrade.

I do have one other question. When using the Rain8Net controller, my HS device codes were I1 - I8, I = Irrigation. BeakerRain created the devices as ]1 - ]8. Is it possible to change the house codes to I?
