    ADIO100-IP2SL Ethernet to Serial Converter

    ADIO100-ITACH IP2SL

    Hello,

I think I'm making some progress but have not yet arrived at the solution:

    1) After connecting the interface analog / digital ADIO100 to ITACH IP2SL through serial cable, and connecting ITACH IP2SL to the LAN and I saw its IP with the application "ihelp" of Global cache;

    2) With the application "Virtual serial port emulator" I created a virtual port serial COM8 and then linked to the IP address of ITACH IP2SL using port 4999

    3) Then I downloaded the plug-in HomeSeer ADIO 100 and connected to the port COM8 by activating an analog connection

    4) On the device management of Homeseer is possible to see the device with the value OFF

5)Before I connected the wire magnetic sensors with ADIO100 but when I open or close the contacts I don't see any change in HomeSeer.

Where is my mistake, can anyone help?
    Thanks

      Hi,
It sounds like your serial port is set up correctly. Can you post a screen shot of your ADIO 100 plugin config page? Also, provide details on what specific sensor you have and how specifically you have it connected.

      Cheers

        ADIO100-ITACH IP2SL

        Hello,
In attach I send the screen shot of my ADIO100 and the screen shot of the device management. I used these magnetic contact CTE045MA (http://vimo.it/prodotti.php?l=eng&id...=none&act=dett) that I connected to my ADIO100 using the analogic contact
        Thanks

          Hi,
Unless I'm missing something, that looks like a dry contact. What's the reason you have it hooked up to an analog input rather than a digital? Are you just trying to measure whether the contact is open or closed? If so, hooking it to a digital input will also give an immediate update, rather than waiting till the next poll. If one wire is hooked to an analog input, what is the second wire from the magnetic contact connected to?

          Cheers

            Hi
Now I hook the magnetic sensor CTE045MA to an digital input but when I disconnect the contacts I can't see any change in the device management page.

Probably not related, but it looks like he's also running an older vers from the screenshot. Lots of changes were made to this plugin.

On first installl, I use Putty or Hyperterm (groan) to connect to the ADIO directly to ensure it's actually communicating (sounds like it may not be talking to it). Be nice if the plugin had some debug options so you could tell..

Also, please confirm what you are connecting the other wire to. One wire is now to the digital input, where does the other wire go?

                Cheers

                  Hi,
Peraphs I hooked the wire of the magnetic sensor not correctly, I don't know. In attach the photo of my ADIO100. What can I do to control where is the problem?
                  Thanks

                    Hi Massimo,

Bit 0 is correct. The other wire should be to the +5VDC terminal, not ground.

                    Cheers

                      ADIO100 - ITACH IP2SL

                      Hi,
                      The never ending story...
I hooked the sensor wire like advised (one wire on BIT 1 and the other wire on +5VDC terminal). Now I tested the sensor open and close and seemed all ok , when it was opened I could read 4.94volt, while when it was closed I read 0,0 volt. I saw the IP of the IPSL2 with "ihelp" and I connected it to the COM with the application "Virtual serial port emulator". I believe to have istalled the COM9 port in the right way but in the device management page of homeseer I didn't see any change of status when I changed the position the my magnetic sensor. In attached some photo to see better what I did. In addition to the log of the homeseer didn't get any error. I don't know more what I can do. Thanks

                      Massimo

                        Hi Massimo,

Looks like the wiring and the plugin configs are all correct. Can you confirm what version of the plugin you are using? Also, is there a way you can test it with a direct serial port, to see if the issue is with the ADIO100, the serial cable or the IP2SL? The other thing to check is the COM port settings under Windows Device Manager for the COM port created by VSPE are correct (baud rate, etc.). Also sign into the web server on the IP2SL and verify that the COM port settings are correct for the ADIO-100. When you move the magnet to the sensor and away again to any of the LEDs on the ADIO-100 and IP2SL flash?

                        Cheers
                        Al

                          ADIO100 - ITACH IP2SL

On the pc with windows at 64 bit I was using the plugin version 3.0.0.20 but to verify every possibility I worked with another pc yet . I downloaded trial version of HomeSeer on this pc with Window at 32 bit and here I tested both the adio100 and with the IPSL2. Here I used the both plugin version 3.0.0.20 and 3.0.0.25 in beta version. In addition to at the end I hooked "adio100" directly with the serial port without positive result. At this point I ask if the serial cable must be a particular cable. I used a normal serial cable also if I know that there are two type of these cables. The COM port setting has these values:
                          Speed :19200.
                          DTR/RTS : no
                          Parity : no
                          Bits: 8
                          Stop bits: 1
                          ReadlntervalTimeout : -1
On the adio100 the led that I saw flash was ok
Peraphs some problems could be about the configuration of the status graphic but I did lot of test using different the values and nothing . Every once that I separated my magnetic sensors didn't happen anything.

What is your ADIO baud rate set to? I think the default is 115200 (SW1 & SW2 ON)
If you want to run at 19200, then it's SW1 ON , SW2 OFF

                              Hi Massimo,

Are the dip switches inside the ADIO-100 set to 19200? See page 4 of the manual for the settings: http://www.homeseer.com/pdfs/guides/...%20Manual2.pdf. The cable is a standard serial cable and the ADIO-100 only uses 3 wires (Tx, Rx and GND).

                              Cheers
