    Non-stop log errors

    Hi there!

So, for the last ~6 months, I've been having the same problem with the sonos plug-in.

Aside from filling up the log, it's causing homeseer to be extremely slow and unresponsive at times.

Here's what the log has been showing:

    Code:
8/22/2014 3:22:09 AM SonosController Error in pDevice.Services for zoneplayer = iPod Dock. Error=Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040500

8/22/2014 3:58:19 AM SonosController IPAddress for zoneplayer = iPod Dock=
Also, I can verify that all the other zones are working properly and I've done many homeseer restarts, a couple sonos system-wide resets (unplugging/replugging every zone), moving the ipod dock around the whole house, updating the plug-in, etc.

Furthermore, I'm running HomeSeer HS2 Professional Edition 2.5.0.80, Plug-in version 1.0.0.115, on Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack: 3.0

Do you have auto discovery on or off? If On, because you are on XP, turn it off. It has a memory leak that has been discussed on this forum. After turning off, restart HS to free up handles.

I think it's off. The only option I can find for auto discovery is "don't do 5 minute rediscoveries" which is already checked.

I do have "build DB when docked" checked, though, could that be causing issues? (although I haven't actually put anything in the ipod dock in a long time)

That is the correct setting. So I suspect something else makes your setup unstable each 6 months.

If you don't use the iDock, perhaps you should power it down. If you get these errors while nothing is happening (no inserting/removing of iPhone in iDock), you have a network issue. If you never use the PI to control the iPhone in the iDock, I would definitely recommend you to turn the "build DB when docked" option off, because it just causes work on HS2.

You are on version 115, I tried to change a few things in the latest version wrt to the error you see, not sure they would make any difference.

I'm going to take your suggestions and will let you know if I keep experiencing this issue.

Is there a way to remove the iPod dock from the plug-in so it doesn't keep searching for it?

Manually delete the HS devices associated w/ the iDock and restart HS. Be warned, if you want to add this device again somewhere in the future, than you are in trouble and would have to manually edit the PI's .ini file.
