    Dim Level Scaling Issues

I am using an Amazon Echo with HS3 and the JowiHue plugin... When I tell Alexa to dim lights to 50%, she dims the lights. Problem is, she sets the dim level in HS to 50, out of 254, which is only 20%. I can tell Alexa to dim the lights to 150%, and she sets the dim level to 150 of 254, or about 60%. This is irritating... Tech support informs me that HS is supposed to take Alexa's input of percentage and mathematically convert it to the numerical value, but its not happening. Is there a way to change the scale of the dim settings from (1-254) to (1-100)?

    John,

Not from the plugin side. It is following the values used by the Hue bridge and it presents it to the device one on one.
I do not want to have conversions in between as the plugin would have to convert in too many places. I know HS3 came out in a new version for alexa, but do not know if HS3 is doing the conversion, what I would expect?

What I could imagine that would help is to create a virtual device on your system and use the values 1 to 100. Then have an event that runs a script converting the value for you and set it either on the plugins device or the virtual device? And use this device in alexa instead of the plugin device?
I do not know what alexa can or cannot do as it is not available in Europe, so I do not know if this is possible?.

Jon, sorry to dredge up an old thread, but did you ever find an elegant solution to this? I've to the same problem. My light range scales from 0-255 but I can only get an absolute value as opposed to a percentage. Seems it would be quite trivial for HS3 to look at the CAPI values and do the conversion, but perhaps I'm missing something.
