VRCS2-MRZ as a scene controller

I have several of these Leviton two button controllers and until recently I thought they worked like every other Z wave switch I have (that is, the button controls the appliance load). However when I connected these to a Vera Edge I noticed that the Vera added a two button scene controller and two separate appliance modules. This was handy because I could have the buttons turn on/off Hue or LIFX bulbs WITHOUT turning off power to the circuit. I still had access to the appliance module to turn it off if I needed to reset a bulb or whatever and seemed far superior to hard wiring a circuit on. Any idea if HS3 has the same behavior? I won't have the time to test it out myself for a while but I may end up ordering a few more of these switches as they make dealing with LIFX/Hue bulbs much easier! Thanks!

To answer my own question, this device can act as a two button scene controller in addition to two appliance load modules. Well in theory. Mine are incredibly difficult to pair properly. When I receive my Z-Net I'll use an ethernet over powerline adapter (or does it have WIFI?) to bring the device right beside the switch and maybe that will help...

Hi Sean, the z-net does support wifi with an optional usb to wifi adapter. Make sure you get theirs to be sure it works with it. I have the 4-button zone controller and yes, it is a pain to setup. There's a thread on the board on how to do it. The scene controllers get added as one step and I believe you need to add the two switches as two additional steps (one for each switch).

The current znet that is being sold is built on the Pi3, which has built in wifi now. No need for an adapter anymore.
