    Disributed network

    Hi,
How can I connect a holiday home to the existing Homeseer Pro?
I have an Internet connection available, but have no clue how I can do this. Is it possible to hookup a Znet controller and include it in the existing HS server?

    many thanks,
    Cheers

Yes, a separate z-net at a remote location will work fine.

      Yjanks fot the quick reply.

How do I need to configure the ZNet via VPN or is it just IP and Port?

You should be able to do either. Do you have static ip addresses on the firewalls on both sides? You should be able to set up port forwarding for that. Or setup a site-to-site vpn between the two networks.

How well does this work? I have a mini pc running at both hoses for Blueiris and I ended up going separate systems so I don't have any issues. For me I already had the hardware, You don't need HS3 PRO since HS touch designer works for more then one system. And during the 50% off sale HS3 was like 125.00. So that ment for 125.00 plus the 40.00 usb z-wave I was up and running. Thats just slightly more then the cost of a z-net without the security and lag issues of a remote system. How fast would a pantry light come on when a door was opened local vs. remote?

I dont have that setup myself, but another user has something like 5 distributed around for monitoring. Since you are worried about latency, you might notice a little delay just from the messaging going on between HS and the Z-Net. You might consider a Zee S2 instead. It costs about the same as a Z-Net and has the Z-Wave controller built-in.

Then your stuck to 5 plugins. I run more then that at both houses already. I'm sure the latency issue will be a problem with some plugins and I'm sure for me I would have had plugin issues also trying to run same plugin for two different locations. Blueiris plugin for one don't think can do two systems. Weather maybe able to handle more then one but not sure. OpenSprinkler and more.

I think you would just have to investigate as much as possible to make sure you can do what you want at both houses using one system. Will all plugins allow remote ip connection to the devices you need?
