Changing the way Linux voice sounds

I'm running Linux. When my Homseer talks through my Sonos speakers, it sounds very robotic and just plain horrible. Is there any way to change the voice to something more like the Windows Homeseer voice? Any suggestions very much appreciated.

What about changing the TTS on the native Homeseer Trollers running Linux?

The Zee at least comes with flite as default for TTS. That includes several voice options, see below thread. It defaults to I think kal16 which sounds like Stephen Hawking. I changed it to rms, easier to understand.

I'd really recommend VoiceRSS - it's much better than the stock voices:

Welcome to the Homeseer forum Kate. The HS "voices" is what got me using first generation Homeseer (well too it was easy peasy automation).

Went to a Wintel server VB running on the HS3 Pro box running Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit which does two SAPI voices for the two HS3 boxes.

They do now sell SAPI voice fonts for Linux.

Mostly because I wanted to utilize the SAPI TTS collection of HS voices collected over the years. Here too my HSTouch windows clients (16 of them) all run speaker dot exe along with HSTouch.

You can today also utilize VB's to run MS only HS3 plugins remotely to the HS3 mothership running in Linux. (IE: Kinect/Alexa plugin works this way for me via W7 or W10 VB's or clients).

You could make one new Windows 10 tablet a proprietary speech client connecting it to central HS sound services (or whatever you choose).
