single button on/off action not working for Tap

I have just purchased my first Tap and I am having some issues configuring it. I can get the tap to change scenes that are configured in the Hue app on my phone. I configured the Tap on the JowiHue Plugin but it does not matter what scene I select in the app, the button always controls the one set on the Hue app on my phone.

The status of the Tap does update in the device list when I press one of the 4 buttons.

    I would appreciate any help.

    Phil,

First of all, welcome to this board

I have tested in on my existing tap, but am not able to copy the situation here. I have selected the JowiHue Settings and selected the "single button on/off action". Then it works as expected here. But in my case it is done on a already existing configuration, not a new one. I am not sure if that changes things as I have not tested on a 'new device' lately?

In the image you see two scenes, because I have also activated the daytime sensor on the bridge.

On what OS are you running the plugin? I am using it here on Windows, maybe there are differences when you run the plugin on Linux?
Also, did you see anything in the log when you configured the button?

    Thanks,

    Wim

      Thanks Wim,

I am running on a Windows 7 OS.

One thing I did see in the log that is confusing me, I keep getting a message stating that there is an update available for the Philips Bridge. The thing is, when I go to the JowiHue Plugin Configuration page, it does not show any update there.

      <TABLE class=log_table_row cellSpacing=0> <TBODY> <TR> <TD class="LogDateLong LogDateTime0" style="WHITE-SPACE: nowrap" align=left>Dec-29 7:20:39 AM </TD> <TD class=LogPri0 align=left></TD> <TD class=LogType0 colSpan=3 align=left>JowiHue </TD> <TD class=LogEntry0 colSpan=8 align=left>Curent software version = 01036659 Current API version = 1.16.0 </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> <TABLE class=log_table_row cellSpacing=0> <TBODY> <TR> <TD class="LogDateLong LogDateTime1" style="WHITE-SPACE: nowrap" align=left>Dec-29 7:20:39 AM </TD> <TD class=LogPri1 align=left></TD> <TD class=LogType1 colSpan=3 align=left>JowiHue </TD> <TD class=LogEntry1 colSpan=8 align=left>The update affects lightid:13 </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> <TABLE class=log_table_row cellSpacing=0> <TBODY> <TR> <TD class="LogDateLong LogDateTime0" style="WHITE-SPACE: nowrap" align=left>Dec-29 7:20:39 AM </TD> <TD class=LogPri0 align=left></TD> <TD class=LogType0 colSpan=3 align=left>JowiHue </TD> <TD class=LogEntry0 colSpan=8 align=left>An update is available for the Hue Bridge (Philips Hub 1) -- ZGB_100B_010C - 11.14. Thanks

Ok, this is weird, I just logged in to my HS via MyHomeSeer from work and on the configuration page I did see the upgrade option. I did not see this from a local connection last night.

I did the upgrade and I got the following error in the log:

        <TABLE class=log_table_row cellSpacing=0> <TBODY> <TR> <TD class="LogDateLong LogDateTime0" style="WHITE-SPACE: nowrap" align=left>Dec-29 7:48:36 AM </TD> <TD class=LogPri0 align=left></TD> <TD class=LogType0 colSpan=3 align=left>JowiHue </TD> <TD class=LogEntry0 colSpan=8 align=left>Error: (postBackProc):web Tap:This row has been removed from a table and does not have any data. BeginEdit() will allow creation of new data in this row. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> <TABLE class=log_table_row cellSpacing=0> <TBODY> <TR> <TD class="LogDateLong LogDateTime1" style="WHITE-SPACE: nowrap" align=left>Dec-29 7:48:31 AM </TD> <TD class=LogPri1 align=left></TD> <TD class=LogType1 colSpan=3 align=left>JowiHue </TD> <TD class=LogEntry1 colSpan=8 align=left>Error: (postBackProc):web Tap:This row has been removed from a table and does not have any data. BeginEdit() will allow creation of new data in this row. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I am not sure what this means but it looks to me like it is referring to the Hue Tap.

          Phil,

The update was referring to one of your lights. Somehow it often takes some time to really become available, so it is possible the plugin is already mentioning the upgrade, but the configuration page is not yet aware of the update. Will have to dive deeper in that to find out what is causing this....

When the tap is now throwing this error, it might be good to restart the plugin through the manage plugins page. I wonder if the error still returns then?

If it does after a restart, please perform a trace for me, so I can see some more detail on this? You can do this by following the next steps:
          • Enable the options deeptrace and log to file in the configuration page of the plugin
          • Stop the plugin and start it again, so I can have a trace from the start
          • Then go to the plugin's webpage for the tap and try to configure it
          • Check if you see the same error in the log
          • If you have this, disable the deeptrace and log to file in the configuration page of the plugin
          • In the HS3 installation folder, check the logs directory. You should now see a file called "JowiHue.log"
          • Send this file to w dot vuyk at upcmail dot nl, so I can check if this helps me?

          Thanks,

          Wim

            Thanks Wim,

I will try those actions this afternoon when I get home.

              Hi Wim,

It looks like the restart fixed the issue. I am not around this weekend, I will play with it some more next week.

              Thank you for your help.
