    PI error - error log generated

    Mark,
    I was doing a cursory inspection of the HS3 log and came across an error in the Insteon PI. I then went back in the HS3 log, looking for other instances and came across a few more (jpg attached). I know of no problems with any devices other than a low battery in the Kitchen Motion Sensor 14.7E.D2, which was replaced last week. Is this a cause for concern? What should I be looking for?

    the error log indicates an issue with [Device 16] which is the following
    DeviceID=14.8F.B9
    DeviceName=Rear Sliding Door
    DeviceLocation=Kitchen

    try adding the following to the [device 16] section
    RecreateDevice=1

    and restart

      Quick follow-up. I added the command to the section as described, but neither the Insteon.ini nor the Insteon.ini.bak show the command RecreateDevice=1 after restart. It that correct?

        yes, the plugin removes the entry after the restart.

        does the device look any different

          Mark,
          I compared it to the config section of the error report log and the only change was the HopData.

            you may need to delete and register the device again

              I deleted the device, did a factory reset, then added it back to the device list. It lasted about 36 hours before generating the error again. The device appears to be functioning correctly as far as reporting on/off status to the system. Is there a reason that I should replace this device (network throughput, etc)?

                  the internal jumper was in the default closed position. Assuming that could be a problem, I removed and sprayed the jumper and pins with electronic cleaner, re-installed and replaced the battery.....wait & see.

                        the next thing to try is a factory reset. don't delete the device from the plugin.

                        after the reset, use the 'program device for homeseer' to add the links back.

                        see the device manual for the reset procedure

                          Ok, I did the factory reset. will wait and see...
                          when I opened insteon config, this is what I saw. totally something new and not sure the best way to proceed. should I go to each device and delete the unregistered links? how could this occur in the first place?

                            if you don't recognize the insteon ids above, then you can go to each device and delete the link. not sure how they got there.
