    Internet Connection Monitoring

    I see in the users guide:
    Internet Hosts

    I have some devices in the group UltraMon3 Internet Monitoring.

    I am trying to figure out how to tell if my connection is active or not.

    I unplugged my network cable to see what would change. After a few minutes all of the monitored devices showed offline. I checked the packet loss [current] device and after 17 minutes it was showing at 6%.

    Is there a different device that I should be looking at to determine if my connection is active or not?
    Any suggestions on how to setup an event trigger if my Internet connection is down?

    Hello Jeff,

    The device you mentioned should have indicated a 100% packet loss if you have no network connection. I'll try to duplicate this. Did you unplug your network cable to your HomeSeer system or to your Internet firewall?

      I had expected to see it go to 100% as well. I had unplugged the cable from the HS computer.

          Yes, I was using GetHostName on the list of Internet hosts. When you lose connection to the Internet, that DNS query fails and the hosts were not tested. This issue was resolved in UltraMon3 HSPI version 3.0.6260.19461.
