New Jasco Z-Wave PLus dimmers and LED trims.

I just deployed 10 Jasco/GE GE Z-Wave Plus In-Wall 500S (14294) Smart Dimmers. I have a renovation going on here and as part of it decided to replace all of the cans with LED trims. Many had LED's from about 5 years ago from Home Depot they worked okay, not great. Dimming range was poor, flickered a bit with Lutron LED dimmers at lower levels. The new trims are GYMEA - LED downlight retrofit: D06K11-D-27S.

The dimmers live in metal 1900 boxes with metal conduit as that's the world I live in. I did the include from the installed switch locations and all included fine into the Z-NET controller. I mostly used Z-Tool+. All in all a "whole lotta better" than HS2 and Z-troller game. The LED retrofit seems pretty darn good. I'm happy with the color, the dimming range is good and no buzzing or flicker yet. One string has ten LEDs (150W) on it and that is the max wattage (hope to put an amp meter on it to see what it really draws.) for the switch's rating for but we're hopeful it will last long term. I even am using one of these dimmers to run a seagull lighting transformer for their undercabinet and its works well without buzzing.

Pretty happy with the switches (they have more neighbors (20-30) based on a quick glance at the node list) than just about any other device in my network) so far and the LED trims though there are some questions about UL rating or not for the LEDs. They are energy star and there is an online reference to UL but not on the packaging or component. Take this with a grain of salt, while I have been using z-wave for a long time I don't consider myself anywhere near qualified but thought this anecdotal experience might be useful to others - your mileage may vary.
