Been getting Electronic House magazine for many years now.

For the DIYer the magazine provides examples of the how,why and what of high end solutions that you can do easily today yourself.

At the heart of it though speakers are still basically where they were decades ago. The only difference is what's coupled to them. Now we have all kinds of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Alexa stuff tacked on. Paper cone.

Here in the 1990's and due to WAF did give up my Altec Lansing Stone hedge speakers mostly because they were too big. Nicest little big speakers I owned in the 1970's were custom stained (by Klipsch) Heresy speakers. Back then speaker manufacturers always pushed the studio sound speaker design. I recall having a discussion relating to the difference between CD audio and a phonograph audio relating to sound compression and harmonics there were not present back then on CDs which is similar today to mechanisms of audio using compression et al. Sound quality is getting much better these days.
