    Another Controller but Independent

I have a PC with HS3 licensed and a Z-NET controller. I want to add an Aeotec Z-stick as a totally separate controller. It would have different devices and I would want it to operate totally separate of the Z-NET. Is this possible?

How would it appear in HS3? I hope I don't need another license as that would put an end to this project.

Absolutely. Plug the Z-stick into the HS computer. In HS, choose Plugins->Zwave->Controller Management then click Add Interface. Set Interface Model to Aeotec Z-stick and set the COM port to that corresponding to the new device (if not sure of the correct one, open Windows device manager, expand the COM port branch and plug and unplug the stick a few times and note which one appears/disappears). Submit the form and if all goes well you will see a green checkmark icon indicating success.

This assumes that the appropriate Windows serial device drivers are present for the Aeotec. If not, check on the Aeotec website for how to get that.

It looks like this, I have two z-nets and one stick in the hs3 computer.

Computer is on one side of the house, kitchen z-net is on the other side of the house and casitas znet is in the detached garage/living space out in the back of the property. You can see the number of Nodes each has attached to them in the 2nd pic at the top.

No extra liscense or anything is needed. You can click the "Add interface" below the z-wave interfaces menu (seen in my first pic) and add as many as you would like. Each has a drop down to include/exclude or what ever from which ever one your using. So out in my garage I go to include under the Casitas Z-net when I'm adding devices out there to keep them on that z-wave network.

        Multiple Znets

Here we have 12 Znets running on a single S6 server. Only one license is required. It's a huge facility and the Znets all behave fine with each other.

I got it working, thanks to all. It seems in the device management page I'll have to come up with a new naming scheme for floors and rooms. When you have two of a device, one on each controller it can be a pain to find.

Be careful of duplicate Event names, they'll cause a conflict.

In addition to Blair's valid point, also know that the HomeID of each controller is at the beginning of the Devices address. You can always see what controller a device is associated with by the HomeID in the address. That column is also one that can be the primary sorting reference, so you can group all devices from a single controller together.
