    Aeotec Multisensor 6 + HS3 -- I can't get it to sense motion...

...even though I have motion detector "enabled". All other (5) sensors work fine.

    Any tricks here?

Also, anyone know the range of the UV?? I get 0 or 1 (of course I live in foggy San Francisco....).

No tricks that I remember. I have several of them and they all work fine for me. Which child you looking at and is there any errors in the logs?

Check the settings for parameter 4.

Set parameter 4 to "5" for example, then click SET and then click DONE. The motion sensor will show DISABLED but it will work.

Don't go by what HS shows. Although this may have changed with the latest .357 update.

As racefern said, parameter 4 is the sensitivity. 5 is the most sensitive. In the HS settings for the device it will show as disabled for any setting less than 5. It is better to set the parameter.

UV is a scale of 1-8, but I’ve never seen it report more than 2 with a direct view of sunlit ground with the sensor outside. It will never read more than 0 indoors, because what little UV reaches the windows will likely be blocked by the Windows coating.

          Thanks guys.

I re-added it and it seemed to take. I now have two motion sensors but I deleted the old one.

I won't worry about the UV. I was mainly curious. I'll just take it as binary for now: 0 no sun, 1 sun.

I thought I'd throw this out there since you guys have these units. I ordered a couple and they showed up with firmware 1.08. Looking at Aeotec's page that firmware looks like it was temporarily available and then pulled. Are either of you running it and have you run into any problems?

              Mine _seems_ to be working.

I just bought a few and they shipped with 1.08. Had a really tough time getting them to connect to HS correctly and sense motion.

I am running 1.08 on two sensors and they work fine. FYI I did the update from 1.07 myself using the Aeotec Z-stick.

Mine was the same. During inclusion it hung on reading Z-Wave+ information and eventually timed out. It seemed to leave the device sort of added, but not functional and no data was being reported and the log said the + information could not be read. I performed a rescan of the device on the Z-Wave tab and then things started working. Motion Sensor was "Disabled" in settings, but I don't know if that is because it was truly disabled or just a value less than 5.

The motion sensor status never updates in the device status view, but I can see in the logs when it triggers.

I set it to update every 10 minutes, but notice not all sensors report in and temperature has missing entries here and there. Maybe it is due to "Do not update device last change time if device value does not change" being enabled by default.

                      Code:

I'm connected via USB power and here's what mine looks like. Also a screenshot of my settings.

                        Here's what reports for me:
Oct-05 16:37:12 Z-Wave Device: HVAC Office Luminance Set to 72 (Lux)
                        Oct-05 16:37:11 Z-Wave Device: HVAC Office Relative Humidity Set to 46 (%)
                        Oct-05 16:37:11 Z-Wave Device: HVAC Office Temperature Set to 77.4 (F)

Thank you. I'm also on USB power, and it looks like things are working as one would expect now. I'll play around with these a bit before deciding where I want to permanently mount them and start cutting holes.
