    Parent root and child device

There are plugins that work with parent and child devices.
In your web page you can activate 'devices displayed in groups' and parent and child devices are grouped.
When you click on the device name and go to advanced, you see:

    Relationship Status Child
Associated Devices Chromecast Boven Audio Boven

But you can't edit this for your own devices, they are set by the plugin you use.

How can I make devices I created Parent and Child devices?

You can set the relationship in scripts, if you are creating devices this way, or modify an existing device. Alternatively you can use Jon00's Device Grouping utility:

Be careful modifying devices owned by a plug-in as you can upset the way they work. Setting the relationships of virtual devices you have created is no problem though.

If you are creating devices in code look in the HS3 help file for Relationship Status in the Device Class:

      Hi Steve,
      Used Jon00's Device Grouping utility.
      Works perfect.
      Thanks for your help.
