    System requirements for plug-in

    Greetings,
How about a sticky thread describing your plug-in? An FAQ along with hardware requirements would be very useful to potential buyers of Somfy gear and your plugin.

I am making a purchase of several motors for blinds and need to know my options for controlling them with HS3. I am not set on buying them pre-motorized or I may DIY them.

Is this plugin for the RS485/RS232 to RTS ?

I am not necessarily getting these, but I have seen Somfy IR-RTS tilt motors for less than $30. Will this plug-in work with these ? These seem like a bargain but if there is no way to control them with HS3 they are useless.

I will have a look at creating a FAQ.

the plugin is not for the motors but for interfacing a RTS controller. It will support any RTS capable motor supported by the controller - and that should mean any RTS capable device.

the plugin support one of two controllers:
you would need the URTSI-II HW:
    e.g.https://www.amazon.com/Somfy-Univers.../dp/B00OD3CCUQ

    or the rs485 rts controller.
    e.g. https://controlissblinds.co.uk/somfy...ts-transmitter

I know some other RS485 Somfy controllers also work form customer customer feedback.

What type of controller do you have?

We have decided on the blinds but have not bought the blinds, controllers or any motors yet. I am trying to sort through the Zwave, RS485, WiFi, Dry-Contacy options. WiFi would be nice but it looks exclusive to Control4, Savant and Crestron. No mention of an API available for the device.

The motors will be a RemoteTilt RTS setup of some sort. The $30 Tiltfree IR are tempting but but the downside to IR is obvious so I will likely choose the RTS version.

Does the URTSI notify the plugin when a shade is adjusted using a handheld Telis remote control ? Do these things get out of sync?

If I recall, the Somfy protocol is one way only. It does not provide status via two-way. The plugin is therefore not able to perform that function.
HomeSeer 2, HomeSeer 3, Allonis myServer, Amazon Alexa Dots, ELK M1G, ISY 994i, HomeKit, BlueIris, and 6 "4k" Cameras using NVR, and integration between all of these systems. Home Automation since 1980.

That's correct. The RTS protocol is only one way so no status updates possible.
