    Cannot enroll Minimote - Solved!

I currently have 3 minimotes working with no problem.

Recently I tried to enroll another one. I used every technique shown in various threads. Added and removed it dozens of times. Reset the remote dozens of times. Rebooted my system, and/or the Z-Net interface dozens of times.

    I give up.

The system will always start to enroll the remote and goes through the initial steps. Then it shows an error message in the log - something about the system cannot retrieve the z-wave info. The system creates a new device but it is non-functional. I have even tried rescanning devices to import the z-wave info - no success.

I am on one of the latest betas of the z-wave plugin 3.0.1.144. I am on the latest HS3 release 3.0.0.368. I have to conclude the Minimote functionality has been broken in latest builds.

Has anyone had luck with any remotes recently that they like?

Have you been able to upgrade the minimote? Here is a description for how to do this. It may resolve the problem.

There is a newer update if you are interested in dimming in a group and/or scene control.

I did update it. I do that for every one I order and receive. Thank you.

Eureka. I finally got it to enroll.

I did something I did not want to do at this point - update to Z-Wave Beta 3.0.1.162

That worked. And there does not seem to be any collateral damage.
