    Commenting Events and Devices

I would like to be able to add comments to devices, events, counters, timers etc in Homeseer. Descriptive names only go so far. Even though I have only been running this for about 4 months I find myself wondering why I did something and having to re-remember my development process and decisions.

The comment could be as simple as a single text box at the top of event ... or as complicated as allowing every line in event code to have a comment. Devices could also have a single comment, or in some cases more comments for things like value ranges, configuration parameters etc.

sheeze I didn't realize they did away with it on devices. I used to use this and haven't really kept up with it because I'm ready to do a full blown redo... figured I would then.. so mine were empty but you could click the note in front of the device... wonder how long that has been gone...

side note while looking, I see you can hide things in mobile view..i know totally irrelevant but hey... just saw it..

After clicking on a device, there is a small icon near the bottom for Notes.
If the icon has a red checkmark, then there are notes for that device.

I use this mostly on battery devices to show when I changed batteries:
      Attached Files

      54 Z-Wave Nodes / 21 Zigbee Devices / 108 Events / 767 Devices
      Plugins: Z-Wave / Zigbee Plus / EasyTrigger / AK Weather / OMNI

was better in HS2 - if there was a note, you saw the icon - else, there was nothing - from the main view

Thanks for pointing this out. I had never noticed that check box. That is good enough to leave some bread crumbs.

            Thanks
