    I have been using Homeseer for over 15 years, I wish we could be using the original version (HS 1) with support (great non browser interface) but I understand that things need to move on. Now I see that it is moving towards the cloud based system. I personally want absolutely nothing to do with a cloud based data system. I know I am in the minority but I think this is the beginning of the lack of individual privacy which is why I have been a Homeseer user all these years. It has been ours to customize however we saw fit, now we are supposed to join the cloud? Please inform me on what is the intended goal with this once great product.
    Thanks

    @Gene,

    Welcome to the Homeseer forum.

    There are a few folks here still using original version of Homeseer 1; well actually Homeseer 1.7.

    There are still a few users here still using last version of Homeseer 2.5.

    Homeseer 3 will run fine without using the cloud. Here do not utilize myhomeseer - IE: it is disabled on the mothership and Homeseer touch screens.

    BTW not tethered to any particular brand of smart phone as I have always purchased new phones a la carte and unlocked and have 5 unlimited SIM cards and generally keep the phones in off mode.

    While I do tinker with cloud stuff like the Samsung Smartthings / Amazon Echo /Android I do not have any automation dependences on it.

    It is up to you what it is you want to do with Homeseer 3 and you do have a choice of how you run it.

      Gene,
      I don't know if we are in the minority for not, but I'm with you.
      Fortunately, HS does not require a cloud connection. If you want to use VR with Echo or Google Home, then you have to use their cloud VR system, and HS will facilitate the connection and use the output to serve as event triggers, but there is nothing in HS3 that requires it.

        Ditto... I purposefully chose HS so as to avoid the "cloud" - hope that never changes.
