event sending brightness 0 turns on lights

i've tried groups and individual lights, with and without timing.
all have the same outcome -- the lights come on at the last level, or just stay on

the description on the event says "switch off"

    ------
the following is what i've done, and may explain why it's weird,
i may just need to delete everything and re-install here's my timeline

last year (black friday 16) got some hue bulbs

sometime in the middle -- installed jowihue trial, but didn't really use it. mostly used siri/homekit to control.

over the summer -- homeseer PC had hardware problems
bought new PC and fresh install of homeseer and windows using old hs config
did not re-install jowi, but never deleted the devices it created.

this year, black friday -- got some more hue bulbs

    bought jowi
it grabbed the config and bulbs that were in the config from the old install, and added all the new bulbs.

    ------

don't have tons of time to play right now, everything else seems to be working, except setting brightness to 0

    Wes,

Could you fill me in on the version of the plugin you are running? If possible, could you also post the event you are mentioning with details on the JowiHue actions you defined? Earlier bright to 0 would not do nothing for you, but on the current version, bright to 0 with an event should turn off the light.

    Thanks,

    Wim

      2.0.1.6

how are you supposed to turn off lights?

brightness is the only thing i saw, so i set that to 0, and the event said "turn off" after i collapsed it.

i guess i can just do it using the regular homeseer device control?
and can use the "all" group to do it at once.
it's been a busy month. so haven't been messing with this too much.

Bright 0 should have switched the bulb off normally. Will have to test this as I am not using this myself often. Is it Philips bulbs you are using?
But indeed, you can also swtich the bulb off by setting the device off. I am using this method myself most of the time.

        Thanks,

yes, i have phillips hue bulbs, all white + color ambiance, and a couple blooms

if they are off, it will also turn them back on.

Thanks for your quick replies on this

I wonder if this is also the issue when using bridge scenes as all other lights not part of the bridge scene turn onto 1%

I'm seeing the same behavior with the beta (Philips Hue lights / bridge).
I tried both setting the device to off, and setting the brightness to zero; both do nothing.

Any suggestions? I'm happy to upload any needed log files.

                geoff,

Tested here, but both methods are switching off the lights. Certainly the device off hav been working since the start of this plugin. Are you seeing any errors in your log that might prevent the plugin from sending commands to the bridge (or deCONZ gateway?)
