    Plugin integration with Google Home

    Hello,

I am working on integrating control of Hue bulbs with Google Home VIA a Hue bridge and HS3.

It looks like this should be possible from discussion here:

    https://forums.homeseer.com/showthre...=190074&page=4

However, I see no color-picker device type when I look at the color picker devices created by JowiHue. So I think this may be the issue, but I am not positive.

Is there a way these Hue devices can be created in HS3, so they can be picked up by the GH service?

    Thanks,

    Dave

    Control color of JowiHue devices

Anyone have any insight into interfacing with JowiHue devices using Google Home? on/off/dim works fine, but can I change the bulb color using GE voice commands?

Is it possible at this time, or something I need to request for the future?

If possible, any suggestions to make this work?

I realize I could connect the Hue hub directly to Google Home, but I prefer to have the control done through HS3.

    Thanks

      Dave,

Sorry, I seem to have missed your question before. To be honest, I don't know if it will work with Google home. Google Home, just like the Alexa devices are not supported for the Netherlands, so i cannot test these.

But HST stated that if color support was needed, with the current beta of HS3 the plugin should set the color attribute on control use. And that is what the current beta of this plugin does for new devices. For existing devices you can go to th properties of a device, the JowiHue tab and press the button "rebuild values". This should set the color attribute for bulbs where hue and sat values are enabled.

So the plugin sets the values according to what HST tells to set to enable color control. But I would love to hear from someone that it indeed works

        Hi Wim,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I wasn't aware that I needed the latest beta of HS3. I have upgraded to HS3 PRo 3.0.0.409, JowiHue 2.0.1.9, and recreated the devices but still no ability to change the color through GH. I did completely remove the bulb from the Hue hub and thus the plugin and HS3 and allow it to be recreated.

The HS3 child hue device seem to react the same: the default Control Type sill shows slider and not color picker, even if I change to color picker, it does not stay and revers back to slider.

I understand that this may be more related to HS3 and GH vs the JowiHue plugin, but I have no way to test the HS and GE color bulb functionality without the plugin.

I'll keep experimenting, but if anyone has any thoughts or references, I would appreciate any help to get this going.

        Thanks

You will not see the change on the device utility page, but on the controluse entry in the graphics tab of the propeties of the device. Sorry, am not home right now, so cannot make an image available for you showing the change/.

But when you go to the properties of a hue device, go to the graphics tab. Also, no need to remove the device, but on the propertiesof the main device, JowiHue tab, press "rebuild device values" to set all device values to its current posibilities.
