Baud rate problem with Aeon S2?

I've got an Aeon S2 USB z-stick (DSA02203-ZWUS) that I'd like to get up and running with my HS3 Pro setup running on a Windows 10 machine. Plugged it in, saw that it needed a CP2102 driver, downloaded that from Silicon Labs and it comes up on COM3

I loaded the Z-wave plug-in into HS3 (v3.0.1.190) and then set up a Controller in the plug-in and used the "Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-stick" on COM3.

It brought up the plug-in dialog but complained:

    Code:
    Connecting to server at 127.0.0.1...
    Connected, waiting to be initialized...

I did search and saw various things about USB connections. Tried it straight into the CPU, into powered hub, an un-powered hub, another hub, a different port on the CPU, etc. Same problem on any connection.

My goal here is to move a bunch of z-wave sensors off a SmartThings hub. And likely everything else too. But just the sensors to start.

What am I missing? What settings or drivers should I be using?

I checked their website and have updated the firmware on the device to 3.08. No change, same error.

Could be having a sticky serial port issue in your Windows 10 box.

Try maybe to change USB port and manually change com port with HS OFF.

Or cleanse the reg serial port entries and let Windows redo them automagically.

cleanse is to get rid the used registry serial port entries and let Windows automatically reassign the serial ports and fix the registry entries.

I just set up a new Intel Compute Stick to run HS3 and encountered the same problem using the latest Windows 10 driver for the z-stick S2.

I got it working by opening device manager and under COM Ports, selected "Uninstall the device", which was the newest driver I had just installed, making sure the "Delete the driver software for this device" checkbox was checked.

Then, from this page https://www.silabs.com/products/deve...ge-vcp-drivers, I downloaded the 2nd the driver package just below the latest driver for Windows 10. The section is titled "Download for Windows 7/8/8.1/10 (v6.7.5)"
The driver name is "Download VCP (5.3 MB)*(Default)" and the actual link is https://www.silabs.com/documents/pub...ws_Drivers.zip
See the attached screen capture which shows the driver that worked for me.

I punted and picked up a Homeseer stick. It installed with no driver complaints.

I had no luck with any variations of drivers for the Aeon stick.

Could you edit your post to include the actual links you had used? They appear to have been truncated or something.

I had tried ones from this page: USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers

I went back and tried the non-Windows10 drivers and those seem to work. Using the Windows10 drivers do not seem to work (and this was on a Windows 10 Pro x64 setup).

Now, as to whether the interface performs well or not, I don't know. I bought a homeseer stick, figuring it'd eliminate one set of the debugging process, so I may never get around to revisiting use of the Aeon S2 stick.
