HS Event Information into Calendar View?

This is either a feature request, or maybe someone has already done this?

Essentially, it would be very useful to see all of the HS event schedule in a calendar view. My goal is to have one calendar for the family with all pertinent information including automated home scheduled events.

It is in this case not necessary to have view into the future, but I would create the calendar events at midnight for the current day.

This information could then view viewed via HSTouch, web ui, or via a MagicMirror.

Most of my HS events are activity dependent. Can you say more about which events you want to list? Are you referring to time-based events? Are they unpredictable from one day to the next? How is the event time determined?

Yes, time based. The importance is for the family and folks that are novices with the tech. Specifically, planning on creating a MagicMirror for my elderly mom which does not live with us. She does not know how to use computers and I figure that it makes sense to just have one information portal like a MagicMirror with everything.

Don't get me wrong. HomeSeer is great. But, if we as a society are really going to get into "home automation" then we really need to start having the technology feed us information or having it be intelligent rather than us bit twiddling around or usage of it as a home remote control. HomeSeer is quite powerful, but where it is lacking is in the information publishing area.

I recently saw a post in a different forum about MagicMirrors and I fell in love with the idea. Been playing around with a RPI and the MagicMirror project and it is quite powerful in terms of speed and ability to serve up information. HSTouch lacks in the information widgets area. If you were to look at the MagicMirror modules, then you'll have a better idea of what I am getting at. For example, folks have created modules that automatically publish train schedule, traffic times from A to B, etc.

While some people are going down the path of voice interaction, I can not see folks like my mom using that as one forgets speech structure requirements and it certainly would not work for folks that have speech/hearing challenges. My favorite was the TV voice demo years ago where the presenter could not get the demo working because they had a noisy air conditioner in the area which interfered with the VR engine of the TV. We suggested for her to turn off the noise and then everything worked fine. But we got hot as there were too many people in the small booth.

I have been experimenting with using IFTTT and the HS3 plugin. I am able to create IFTTT applets like: if the front porch light turns on, enter it into my iOS calendar.

It works pretty well, but I have only tried for a short time.

Maybe this could do what you want.

How responsive is IFTT? Our however it is spelled. Having a senior moment.

Will more than likely look at the HS API to integrate through the events and then will populate a Google (or whatever) calendar with all time based events.

May look through JON00 scripts as he might have written this already. His tool bag is more powerful than a swiss army knife. It wouldn't surprise me if he already wrote something like this. It is not the end of the world.

          Thanks!
