    Australian Z-Wave Devices

I just thought I'd say Hi to any remaining Oz people using Homeseer for X10 based devices, and any Oz people just starting to use Homeseer for Z-wave devices.

With Z-wave products finally starting to hit the Australian shores, I'm hoping we can open a line of communications here in order to share experiences and find more Z-Wave products running on the Australian Frequency.

So far, I have seen a number of websites that will be releasing Aussie Z-Wave products "Early 2010", so, with that in mind, as people become aware of products other then the basic 'Power and Light modules', please be so kind to update this thread.

    ... /opens discussions.

Where have you seen Z-Wave as coming in 2010 to Australia? I know of the SmartHome.com.au Z-wave offering, but no others.

      Hi Gwumm,

Yes smarthome have started selling zwave devices. Interesting they are still looking at software to offer, looking at both HomeSeer and mControl.
Good to see we'll have some more choice shortly.

      Ross.

G'day... Yeah I bought some stuff from Smart Home. VERY Expensive for what they are offering, and a very limited offering, however it does work after a lot of configuration changes in HS.

              No, I haven't - but you've got me interested.

Where can you get these products and how does the system work?

Doesnt seem to be any list of their items on those links. Are PLCBUS components still available? It is frustrating being in Australia

                          Hi Psaini,
I did have a quick read about plcbus, but it seemed a little lacking to be honest. I'd love to be incorrect because having an alternate functional product to zwave would be a welcome surprise, due to the lacking options in Australia.

Zwave from smarthome definitely works, but as you said is very much on the expensive side... I'm working on importing similar and additional zwave products myself right now, but we have to stick with the Australian frequency, hence the limited options. Im not interested in reselling, just being able to afford enough products to fit-out my house, so I'll let you know if i have any luck.

On the plus side, there should be some more aussie companies releasing zwave products in 2010, so hopefully it'll both make smarthome review their pricing, and bring some more options to the market.

                          - Gwumm

I know zwave products are on a different frequency in oz... but i think they are low powered devices... so it shouldnt be a problem.. ACMA will only be concerned if there is any interference... when do u think you will be able to import them

smarthome got new switchmodules but guess what for 99bucks.. dont know why they cant sell it for cheap so more people can getinto it

Do you know what companies are going to release z wave products.. any links or articles i will be very keen to read them

                            cheers
