I am confident this is the data I get from Buienradar. Even on the hottest day of the year sometimes Buienradar does predict a very tiny little bit of rain, and by the next update it is gone again. And 0.04mm of rain p/hour is basically no rain at all :-)

If you don't trust it, please enable the debug options and when it happens again we can see what data was pulled from Buienradar.

I had the same happening this morning three times already, here is one example:
    1-7-2015 10:40:34: 000|10:30 024|10:35 043|10:40 051|10:45 047|10:50 030|10:55 000|11:00 000|11:05 000|11:10 000|11:15 000|11:20 000|11:25 000|11:30 000|11:35 000|11:40 000|11:45 000|11:50 000|11:55 000|12:00 000|12:05 000|12:10 000|12:15 000|12:20 000|12:25 000|12:30

And 5 minutes later it was gone:
    1-7-2015 10:45:34: 000|10:35 000|10:40 000|10:45 000|10:50 000|10:55 000|11:00 000|11:05 000|11:10 000|11:15 000|11:20 000|11:25 000|11:30 000|11:35 000|11:40 000|11:45 000|11:50 000|11:55 000|12:00 000|12:05 000|12:10 000|12:15 000|12:20 000|12:25 000|12:30 000|12:35

        Hi Steff,

Indeed it is not a bug sometimes rain is expected according to the data retrieved by the PI. Although the Buienradar website does not show this rain in the graph. I think the Buienradar site has some logic to determine if the expected rain is a false positive prediction.

I think it will be help-full if you can also trigger on the average amount of rain expected (in combination with the amount of rain) to minimize the false positive result. Is it possible to add this trigger?

Ok, let's see what we can do. We need some kind of threshold to avoid these "false positives" (I don't really think they are, if you zoom enough on the buienradar map you sometimes see little rain areas even on the hottest day of the year). Anyway, I agree it can be annoying. And I assume we are referring here to the announcement (by the speaker client) of precipitation by the plugin?

A threshold can be either in time (for instance, only trigger after receiving two positives) or value (only trigger when precipitation expected is more than xx mm). I think the last is the best, as I don't want to delay precipitation expectancy unnecessary.

If you look at the example above where you see some precipitation expected on a very hot day, the highest value is 51, which equals 0,01539 mm of rain (per hour, so this single 5 minute timeframe is only 0,0013 mm). Which is next to nothing. Perhaps I should build a (configurable?) threshold on that value?

No response anymore. I guess this is not really an issue after all. I will not change the logic for now as the interest seems low...

It is an issue for me and I will appreciate if you add a Trigger based on the average amount of rain expected. I"m controlling my awnings based on the information of the PI. But it. Seems that I"m the only one

John, I think you can already create such a trigger right now. Unless you mean something else with "average"?

Let's assume you want to close your awnings when precipitation is expected in the next 10 minutes, create an event like this:

IF Minimum 0,2 mm per hour or more precipitation expected between now and the next 10 minutes at (your location).

Just select the "correct" minimum amount to avoid false positives.

                  Sref,

I did the trick below and it seems to solve the issue.
IF Minimum 0.05 mm per hour or more precipitation expected between now and the next 30 minutes at xxxxxxxx
AND IF Awning Kitchen Canopy has a value equal to Down
AND IF Minimum 0.1 mm in total or more precipitation expected between now and the next 60 minutes at XXXXX
Then Run Event Awning Awning up
