There's a lot of new stuff from GE/Jasco that they're not releasing directly. They seem to only be interested in selling out to someone else to manufacture.

        Ge z-wave hinge

Did anyone end up giving these a go? I think I could live with the size/look if they performed well...

            Thanks!

Thank you Jayman13 - we're about to start construction on a new house and if these work well for you, we might go with the hinges instead of drilling each door for the aeon labs hidden sensors...

I got one about a month ago and am using it.

Caveats: You can't wake it up. There appears to be nothing configurable about it except for the message type it sends which is done by pressing a button 5 times.
Who knows whether it sends battery messages. Mine is stuck on 100%.

It is a real pain to align it with your door correctly.

Other than that it works well.

                  You..
                  1. can't wake it up
                  2. can't configure it
                  3. don't know if the battery is updating
                  4. had trouble installing it
                  Sounds awesome!

Seriously though... Jasco hasn't sent up test samples yet, so we don't know much about it at the moment.

Hope they end up working well.

3VEN At 40 bucks, I'd buy a few. Will HS sell / support these yet - or ?

Silly question... is it just a hinged style door sensor? Does it do more?
