    Setting output command 19 problem

    I was having the same "Setting output command 19" problem that WMark was having. It was conflicting with my HAI panel on COM 1, and since it was locking up during the load, there was no way to switch the W800 setup to Com 2. After physically switching com ports for the panel and the W800, it no longer locks up. However, I still cannot get into the setup for the W800, using either the 1.0 or beta version. When I click on "setup" under the "interfaces" tab, nothing happens. The W800 appears to be working correctly based on testing with Oman's testing utility. My HS log shows the following;

    5/31/2003 3:38:05 PM~!~W800 RF (32Bit) Controller~!~W800RF32 Plugin Version Beta 2.0.2 Has Registered. Plugin Copyright (c) 2003 - Jonathan Ort

    5/31/2003 3:38:07 PM~!~W800 RF (32Bit) Controller~!~Deleting IO devices from list

    And when I hit keys on the palmpad, I get this;
    5/31/2003 3:40:37 PM~!~Send X10 from ext interface~!~A9 On dim: 0 extra: 0
    5/31/2003 3:40:37 PM~!~X10 Received~!~A9 (?) A On

    I'll drop Oman a line on email also, but wanted to post this here some wmark doesn't think he's alone in the world.
    My system is described in my profile.

    Ok, I had a feeling that the 19 was actually coming from another plugin. The people who are getting it are getting it because the W800 plugin is loading first. I'll change the plugin so that it defaults to a dummy com port.

    As far as not getting into setup, it is most likely because there is a problem with the tab control on your machine. You must have the most recent version, which is normally installed by the full intstaller.

    Did you run the large (about 1.5 meg) installer available from the WGL web site?

    If so could you please check the version information of the Tabctl32.ocx and/or DLL on your system? Also do a find for that file and make sure you don't have more than one copy anywhere on your system.

      I used the updater to install the plugin both times. Five copies of the Tabctl32.ocx on the machine, four of them in the HS updates directory, and one in the system area.

      Program Files\HomeSeer\updates\W800RF32 Plugin Beta2.0.0.2 dated 12/6/2000
      .....beta2.0.0.2\backup dated 5/22/2000
      .....plugin1.0.0.0 dated 12/6/2000
      .....plugin1.0.0.0\backup dated 5/22/2000
      and
      WINNT\system32 dated 5/22/2000

      I'll first try getting the most recent OCX into the system32 directory, and if that doesn't work, then the full monty from the WGL website.

          There is a new beta posted under the Beta topic. It addresses the error 19 and error 13 problem. It should also help diagnose the setup dialog problem as well.

            I downloaded the full installer from the WGL website and everything seems to be working now. The first time I tried to hot setup, I got a bunch of the error 19 messages, but I restarted HS and the second time everything worked ok.

            On the subject of the W800 itself, I hooked it up to a feed from the TV antenna on the roof and I'm getting 300+ ft. from a palmpad. Nice!
