    HSControl KPL Button Scene Control

I'm running HS3 on Linux and Insteon Plugin version 3.0.6.23. 3.0.6.23 is the beta version but this was occurring on the non-beta also.

I have several KPLs in the installation, the KPL buttons are used to control nearby lights at various dim levels and ramp rates.
    For Example:
Button C on the Kitchen KPL turns off the kitchen and island lights while it turns on the sink light at 5%.
Button D on the Kitchen KPL turns on the kitchen, island, and sink lights at 50%.
I have 'Sync linked responder devices' enabled.

    The problem:
When I physically press the KPL button it does what I expect, diming or turning off the various lights.
When I turn on the KPL button from HomeSeer web or HSTouch, all of the lights the keypad controls, even if not controlled by that button, turn on to 100% in .1 seconds. This holds true even if the default ramp rates and brightness for the loads are different (80% .5 seconds)

It doesn't seem to matter if controlled by individual links or by the group.

Besides using events, is there anyway to get the HomeSeer Web/HSTouch KPL buttons to work properly? I don't really want to program the KPLs twice (once in HS once in the plugin).

Controlling the groups instead of the KPL give me trouble too, because if I change one of the lights brightness manually I have the KPL button turn off but the group doesn't update it's status. Using an even to update the group status then turns off the lights.

have you tried creating a Group in the plugin? Set the KPL btn as the controller and set the desired on-levels and ramp rates for the devices.

then you can control the kpl btn from hs, the plugin should set the other devices correctly

    More:

the plugin doesn't update the group device status based on any changes from the participants. there is no way to know what should happen in every scenario.

default on-levels and ramp rates are not used with insteon links. Links have their own settings. you can set these when you build the links.

I have tried using groups, even with the group using the HS KPL button turns on all devices controlled by the keypad at 100%, even devices that aren't controlled by the keypad button I turned on.

      Understood on the other items.

for one of the devices that is controlled by the kpl and turning on incorrectly at 100% can you copy the link data from the [device x] section of the insteon.ini

i would also like to see the link from the UI for the device

          Sure.

This is the 'Kitchen Sink Light'
Button D on the 'KPL Living Room' should set the Sink light to 5% and turn other lights off.

Pressing the physical button does just that. Clicking the button in HS turns all the lights controlled by the KPL on at 100%

I've added logic for the plugin to check the responder link values and use them when sync'ing a responder device. Try beta version 3.0.6.24 in the Updater.

Alright, so I'm on version 3.0.6.25.

                    Still having the same problem.

If I press the physical KPL button all the appropriate lights dim/turn off.

If I click the HomeSeer KPL button all the lights controlled by that KPL turn on at 100% brightness.

strange. this works in my test scenario.

can you post just the "is controlled" links from the devices that are controlled by the kpl btn.

can you also post a detailed log snippet after you press the homeseer kpl button

I clicked KPL Kitchen keypad button C "Night" at 11:27:26.
                        This should have:
                        Turned off Switch Kitchen Light
                        Turned off Switch Kitchen Pendands
Dimmed Switch Kitchen Sink Light to 5%

                        Instead it:
Turned on the Switch Kitchen light 100%
                        Turned on Kitchen Pendants 100%

I clicked KPL Kitchen keypad button C "Night" at 11:27:26.
when you do this, are you turning button C On or Off?

if see why the devices are responding full On if you are turning C Off (i need to account for this)

Can you try a test when you turn C On and see how the responder react?

I am turning button C on. I'm using button C as a scene, so turning button C on should turn some lights off and others on at a dimmed level.

Turning button C off turns off all the associated responders.
