    Free .NET Development Environment

    If you would like to get your feet wet with .NET but don't want to fork out the money for Visual Studio, you might want to check out #develop . It is full of features including a VB.NET to C# conversion tool.
    I don't think ASP.NET development is available yet, but they are working on it.

    If this IDE provides what is neccessary for HS 2.0 development then we could add project types to the IDE for HS plugins.

    A possible short term alternative...

    Visual studio 2005 BETA is available from microsoft; it's free and expires March 1, 2005.

    It might be a good thing to try, but be aware it's BETA!

    For yuks, I tried it with an hspi written in c++; it didn't work, but I didn't persue it, since I've got the 'real' C++ anyways. I think it was complaining about Microsoft Foundataion Classes.

    Available are VB version 8, C# version 8, C++ version 8, J version 8, SQL SERVER 2005, etc, etc.
