    I'm not sure there is a fix but as you I too noticed many posts on message boards about the internal electronic causing false temp readings. As you stated it's a shame that they do not have a calibration utility. The newer generation Nests are supposed to be a bit better according to some posts.

      I have noticed that if you use the trim ring the reading is right on, directly on the wall and i was 2-3 degrees high. Not sure if it was just a fluke, but adding the trim ring made mine be more accurate.
