    Status not updating?

    Hey Spud -

I seem to have an issue where the Nest Status, like HVAC Status isn't updating? It hasn't changed from heating since yesterday? (and its been on and off like crazy, since I'm in Buffalo NY).

If I re-add the API, it works for a bit - but then stops updating?

    #2
Happened again - LAST UPDATE was 5 hours, so I stopped the plugin and restarted it, and its back to working.

If I tried to change the temp at the device screen, it did nothing - and the log showed it was being changed and no errors. Waited a few minutes, nothing ... Restarted the plugin and it picked up the change right away....

After it starts to work, and stops - In debug mode it throws this :

what version of the plugin are you running?

can you post your logs when you try to change a target temperature from the device management screen?

        Hey Spud -

Sorry for the delay, been setting up a ton of stuff around the house for the automation and got sidetracked.

        Version is : 3.0.11

I noticed the Fan on/off was failing today so I reset it, and I was good for a few hours. I just tried to change the temp to play around and the logs threw :

Similar to the error I received with the FAN before I reset the plugin....

This is controlling an HVAC Whole house Scent systems, so I'm beating up on the features pretty hard

A few minutes later, the FAN event kicked in and worked (Without any reset)

More issues today - My heating hasn't updated since 12:20AM this morning, and its been going on and off all day (Its 8f outside with a -5 Wind Chill). The status has been stuck on Heating for almost 24 hours and hasn't updated.

Also, can't change it using the plug in - It simply adds this to the log :

            It doesn't change anything ...

                Same problem

I have the same issue, just noticed it. Status, set temperature, humidity and ambient temp not updating after a period of time.

                after it stops updating:
All functionality works correctly, adjust temp up and down works, even increments the set temp value, but of course it's wrong since it incremented it from the local value, not refreshed from the nest.

you can set the temp directly from the plugin (i have an even that sets the nest to 60) but the set temp does NOT reflect this after

set from nest (temp, hvac mode, away/home, fan, etc)-- not updating after changed from nest (or nest app on my android)

reset plugin and all works again. for a while (not really sure how long)

                    currently using version 3.0.0.11
i reset the plugin yesterday and it's still currently working.

I haven't been able to pin down a time to failure as of yet. Most of my use of the plugin is simply sending commands to the nest, I have no events that are triggered off of nest readings, so i don't really know when it stops it stops updating. . . that said, it's never been less than a week before i notice it. . . but that may just mean i've been busy.

As of now, i have no logs since it's working. I'll post logs if/when it stops next.

Oh, nice work on the plugin BTW. I know it sometimes sucks being a developer and all you ever hear about is complaints/bugs/issues. All in all, very nice work, and TY.

                      thanks!

set the log level to debug before the problem happens again.

I'm also having problems with the plugin hanging but I think I have found the root cause for this. I had debugging on but I think this will not tell us more.
What I did notice at the last time the plugin stopped was a network problem. I turned out the plugin stopped working after this problem. What I did was simulating this by switching off my router and the same problem occurred again, the plugin stopped working.

So it seems that there is a problem with the fact the connection goes down. The plugin does not recover from this error.

Logging from last hang. No more messages from the Nest plugin:

When the connection is lost, the current request will timeout after 2minutes, and then the plugin will try to reconnect.
