    Homeseer 3 Zee-2 on Pine64 2Gb

Just a quickie step by step Homeseer 3 Zee-2 installation on a Pine64 2Gb version. Will break it down a bit providing some more granular details.

1 - Used the xenial-pine64-bspkernel-20160507-1.img.xz versom which can be found here ==> xenial-pine64-bspkernel-20160507

    - Used a 16 Gb microSD card and wrote image to microSD card with Linux.

2 - configured static IP and host name

    3 - installed openssh-server

    apt-get install openssh-server

4 - created homeseer and pete users

5 - changed password to root

    6 - installed Mono, Flite and chromium-BSU
    apt-get install mono-complete
    apt-get install mono-vbnc
    apt-get install flite
    apt-get install chromium-BSU

    7 - Installed WebMin

    wget hxxp://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin_1.801_all.deb
    apt-get install perl libnet-ssleay-perl openssl libauthen-pam-perl libpam-runtime libio-pty-perl apt-show-versions python
    dpkg --install webmin_1.801_all.deb

    8 - installed lm-sensors

    sudo apt-get install lm-sensors
    sudo sensors-detect

    9 - downloaded HS3 for Zee-2

    10 - installed on the \HomeSeer directory

    11 - ssh'd to device and cd\HomSeer and did ./go

12 - plugged in an Aeon Stick. Configured Z-Wave stick.

13 - Told primary Z-Wave controller to send data to a secondary controller. and new Z-Wave stick new secondary controller to recieve data from primary. Note this worked between floors in my two story home.

14 - noticed today 6th of July a TZDATA update. Reconfigured time.

    pine64:/etc# dpkg-reconfigure tzdata

    Current default time zone: 'US/Central'
Local time is now: Wed Jul 6 07:12:56 CDT 2016.
Universal Time is now: Wed Jul 6 12:12:56 UTC 2016.

In retrospect the Pine64 is faster than the RPi2 and slower than the Xi3 Xi5A mini computer. Not sure relating to the RPi3. The board architecture is similiar but not the same as the RPi in general.

I will stay out of that rhetoric going on relating to the sell of a KODI ready Pine64 GPU when in fact it was used for the sell but never implemented or tested by KODI folks to benchmark the device.

It'll make a good Homeseer 3 server device (or Zee-2 replacement). You can add a ZWave dot me GPIO card in it along with the PiFace RTC shim and it'll work just fine.

11th of July, 2016 Hardware update

Noticed reading the documentation that the Pine64 has a built in RTC such that all you need to do is add a battery.

Attached are close up pictures of the board.

Looking for a case and found one made by a guitar maker in Spain.

One switch came with the Pine64. Adding / soldering two switches.

    20th of July, 2016 status

Pulled the power and waited a few minutes. I then powered it up and it came back just fine.
