SmartStick+ antena orientation

Does anyone know what is the best way to have the SmartStick+ mounted?
I've seen similar threads about the Z-NET, but haven't found any info about the SmartStick+
Should I mount it horizontally, or vertically? I guess that if the best orientation would be vertical, I would need to connect it to some kind of extension cable, or USB cradle dock, similar to this one at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-4-Fee...N%3DB00MBUVQEQ

Me two. Vertical makes more sense to me, simply because it doesn't make much sense to have it hidden under the desk when connected directly to one of the USB ports...

I know this is a user-to-user forum, but I've seen a few posts by Rich and Macromark, so I'm hoping one of them would pop in and provide an "official" answer.
