Time to spring ahead and ....

A reminder to set you clocks up one hour tomorrow Sunday 10th of March, 2018

    and

    .....

Time in the United States, by law, is divided into nine standard time zones covering the states and its possessions, with most of the United States observing daylight saving time (DST) for approximately the spring, summer, and fall months. The time zone boundaries and DST observance are regulated by the Department of Transportation. Official and highly precise timekeeping services (clocks) are provided by two federal agencies: the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) (an agency of the Department of Commerce); and its military counterpart, the United States Naval Observatory (USNO). The clocks run by these services are kept synchronized with each other as well as with those of other international timekeeping organizations.

It is the combination of the time zone and daylight saving rules, along with the timekeeping services, which determines the legal civil time for any U.S. location at any moment.
    ....

    and ....

    .... what is a timecatcher?

And the debate continues. If given the choice, I would prefer to stay on standard time. A consistent argument in favor of daylight savings time is that it saves energy. A paragraph from an opinion piece By Kristi Stone Hamrick amused me when I read the article today

I agree, that is a great comment. I am also struck by the implication that despite that "cutting edge analysis" we persist in the insanity. Apparenly our baseline level of analysis is somewhat worse.

Every year that I have written about the time change here on the Homeseer forum the deletion of said standard has cropped up and only around the time changes; then it goes away after a week or so and comes back for the next time change. It will need to be a nationally agreed upon change and not one off changes that cause mostly confusion.

Kind of wondering how long flogging a dead horse will last...my last work endeavor relating to the changes in 2007 turned in to a debacle cuz nobody listened and understood (rather they heard and it was just noise to them).
