Does this require the Lyric to be connected to the internet? I hate anything that connects to a 3rd party service, and would like to block the lyric thermostats from connecting to the internet. Will this work with the connectivity on the local LAN only?

Yes, the Lyric (and all other commercial "Smart" thermostats) require the internet for remote control. Your only choices for local control are those using more traditional Home Automation protocols like Insteon or Z-Wave.Originally posted by ACiDGRiM View Post -
