Lost all devices!!!

I had a power outage and lost all my devices. Tried a recent restore and the an old restore...Nothing. This is the second time. The first was with the new update 375. I'm now back to HS3 ZEE S2 Edition 3.0.0.368 (Linux).
Matt with support helped me the first time but I can't find the email to recreate the reinstall or repair.
I would appreciate any help. I contacted support but have not heard back.
Thanks!!!!

All of your Z-Wave nodes reside in the Z-Wave hardware device.

If you delete or rename the /HomeSeer/Data/Z-Wave/Z-Wave2.db it will recreate itself.

Note this is only the nodes and not the events and triggers.

The events and triggers are stored in the Homeseer database.

If you have lost these then you can go to a back up of the Homeseer Database which is located at /HomeSeer/Data

main database is called: HomeSeerData.hsd

Backups are called: HomeSeerData_1.hsd to HomeSeerData_10.hsd

Do a baby steps thing. Make sure you have shut down Homeseer and backed up the Homeseer directory before you do this.

1 - shut down Homeseer
2 - back up Homeseer directory
3 - delete Z-Wave database
4 - copy old Homeseer database base to HomeSeerData.hsd
5 - reboot or restart Homeseer 3.

If all concern only relates to Z-Wave nodes all you need to do are steps 1,2,3 and 5. (skip 4).

It is there.

Are you running Windows 10 64 bit or Windows in 64 bit mode?

In a Windows 64 bit computer Homeseer 3 resides in the C:\Program Files (x86) directory.
In a Windows 32 bit computer Homeseer 3 resides in the C:\Program Files directory.

Make sure you back up the entire Homeseer Directory with Homeseer in off mode before making any changes.

Always back up your Homeseer 3 directory before making any changes. It takes 5 minutes to restore a backup.

First time I am reading about a V.375. I am still on V.368 on two Homeseer boxes here (running Linux)

Thinking latest update is V.368.

Look at the Homeseer 3 icon on your desktop. Right click properties. Properties will show where it is installed.

You probably need to utilize administrative rights to see the directory.

Go slow, baby steps you will find the Homeseer 3 directory.

Have a read here relating to default install directories ..

Which Win OS should I choose for my new PC

Homeseer 3 has to be starting from some directory on your computer and when it was installed by default it drops a Homeseer 3 icon on your desktop.

How do you auto start Homeseer 3 when the computer reboots?

no HS3 on desktop or in programs, windows, program x86. Nowhere to be found. Show hidden files is checked. I just tried restore interface. It did nothing.

Actually erasing the configuration on your ZTroller does more harm than good. The read of the Z-Troller is what you want to do.

Oct-01 10:14:30 AM Z-Wave Main Homeseer: Found 11 Z-Wave nodes in interface node ID 1 (Main Homeseer)
Oct-01 10:14:30 AM Z-Wave Main Homeseer: Z-Wave interface node ID: 1, Home ID: D490CCC0

The above is reading your firmware and ZWave database.

The below stuff is a proactive deletion of the nodes that are stored in your ZTroller.

Oct-01 10:14:01 AM Z-Wave Main Homeseer: Erase complete - sending the network ID to the interface.
Oct-01 10:14:01 AM Z-Wave Main Homeseer: Controller firmware version: 4.32
Oct-01 10:14:01 AM Z-Wave Main Homeseer: Controller Manufacturer: Express Controls, ID=0x2, Type=0x5
Oct-01 10:13:59 AM Z-Wave Z-Wave Interface Main Homeseer (1) has been reset to its defaults.
Oct-01 10:13:59 AM Z-Wave Warning Main Homeseer: Erasing the interface...

That message above relating to erasing your interface will be deleting all of your ZWave nodes and unless you have a backup you will need to reconfigure or pair each node to your controller which will be a PITA.

The firmware in your Z-Wave controller stores all of your Z-Wave nodes.

The Homeseer ZWave database is a copy of these from the ZWave firmware on your ZTroller.

Well I guess I'll wait for support to reply. I may have to reinstall all devices. Then I think I'll look for a new hub. It seems I keep fixing things with HS. Nothing stays constant. May I'll try the new echo plus. And if it works better then HS I'll put my Z on eBay.
That being said, I'd Like to thank you for trying to help me. It's much appreciated.

@Art,

I would have a look at the ZNet.

I never touch mine as it is POE connected in the attic of my home.

I also have the ZTroller, ZWave USB sticks. These are no longer used anymore.

Don't get frustrated.

The Echo is just a voice activated console. It needs to talk to some sort of cloud connected at home hub to work. Here also use the Amazon Echo.

I also have been tinkering with the Samsung Smartthings hub. While it works fine it is no comparison to Homeseer.

The new echo plus has it's own hub built in.
It handles z wave , z wave plus and zigbee.
From what amazon support tells me it will just discover your devices. And it can be programed just like events. I now use alexa with HS and IFTTT. I think with the new echo there's no need for IFTTT. And I won't need a another hub, we'll see. I just ordered one. It shis 10/31

Understood Art.

I do Zigbee here today. Started goofing around with the Almond + a few years back.

It is in the Samsung Hub and I have a ZIM (Zigbee Interface) connected to my Leviton Omni Pro 2 security panel.

I guess I am sticking mostly to Homeseer because it resides in my home and I am not really a cloud person (even though I tinker with this stuff).

The ZNet device is an ethernet based Z-Wave controller. This allows you to put the Z-Wave controller any place in your home and separate from your main Homeseer 3 controller.

The Zee2 is a Raspberry Pi based Homeseer 3 box. The original Zee was the first of it's kind. It is the mini version of Homeseer 3. I call it Homeseer lite. It only runs on Linux today.
