    Way2Call Hi-Phone and Call Monitoring

    describes a hardware approach to monitoring calls while recording with the Hi-Phone. Is this still state-of-the art, or is there a better way, or any anticipation of this feature being added in the near future? I dumped the PCI modem due to the call termination problems, but I'm now surprised by not being able to monitor calls with the Way2Call modem. It seems like HS just doesn't support a simple no trade-off full featured Answering Machine feature for any amount of money!?

    FYI: If you are planning to record phone conversations, be aware that this is unlawful in many states unless all parties in the conversation are aware that it's being recorded. That's why you always hear "...may be recorded for quality purposes.." in a canned message when making a call to a call center.
