    I have a few questions ???

    Hi Spud,

Wanted to try your plugin but wanted to clear up a few things first.

    1. Can I use a XBox 360 Kinect on a windows 7 PC or would I need a window version.
    2. If I can use a XBox 360 Kinect on a windows PC which of the 2 drivers would I need
    3. I would like to use the Kinect on my always on server where Homeseer is running, but the Kinect unit would be in my cinema room, now I suspect I wouldn't be able to use echo cancellation due to my HTPC being a different PC
in version 3.0.0.16 available here, I have added echo cancellation

To enable it, go to the config page, in the Voice Recognition tab tick the "Echo Cancellation" checkbox then restart the plugin.

This will filter out all the audio from your default speakers (the audio output which is set as default in Windows)

    Thanks

    1. yes you can use a XBox 360 Kinect on a windows 7 PC (this is exactly the setup I'm using) but you need to make sure that the kinect you buy comes with a USB/AC adapter, if it doesn't you can find some on amazon/ebay

2 for the XBox 360 kinect, you need to install the kinect SDK available here: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=275588

    3. The plugin needs to run on the PC where the kinect is plugged. So if you plug the kinect into your HTPC, you will need to run the plugin as a remote instance (see the very end of the user guide: http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=162315).
In this case the echo cancellation feature will filter out the audio from your HTPC.
