    HSTouch: Troubleshooting Connection Problems

Here are a few things to check and try if you're experiencing connection problems with HSTouch designer or client applications.

    FIRST AND FOREMOST
Make sure you have the appropriate plug-ins installed and enabled on your HomeSeer system.

HSTouch Server (required for all systems except HomeTroller-SE)
HSTouch Server Unlimited (for PRO systems only. HSTouch Server must ALSO be installed)
HSTouch Lite (required for HomeTroller-SE only)
HSTouch Android (required for Android users)
HSTouch iPhone (required for iPhone, iPad, iPod-Touch users)

    Router Port Settings
HomeSeer systems have different port settings for web access and HSTouch access. DO NOT use the same port setting for both! If you intend to access your system remotely via HSTouch, you must access your router's settings and "forward" port 10200 to your HomeSeer system. DO NOT CHANGE THIS PORT TO ANY OTHER NUMBER.

    Windows Firewall Settings
The HSTouch Windows Designer and Client components must be able to communicate freely with the HSTouch Server plug-in. If you're using Windows Firewall, adjust your Firewall settings to allow these components to communcate with each other.

    HSTouch Designer Settings
If you having trouble getting HSTouch Designer to connect with the HSTouch Server plug-in, check these two settings:
    1. Navigate to Tools>Options>Connection Defaults and ensure that you have the correct LAN or WAN IP Address (or myhomeseer-connect domain) of your HomeSeer system entered. Also enter your HomeSeer system log-in and ensure that port 10200 is chosen.
    2. Open the project you wish to work with and navigate to the Tools>Options>Project Defaults screen. The "Connection Information Override" fields in the lower left hand corner of this window should be blank unless you intend to connect to a different HomeSeer system than the one already specified in your "Connection Defaults" settings.
iPhone / iPad /iPod Touch Settings
Ensure that you've already downloaded and installed the HSTouch app from the Apple App Store. On your Apple device, open your Apple "Settings" app and select "HSTouch".
    1. Server 1: Select "Server 1". Change the Label to "Local" and set the Address to the LAN IP address of your HomeSeer system (typically starts with 192.168....).
    2. Server 2: Select "Server 2". Change the Label to "Remote" and set the Address to the Internet (WAN) IP address (or MyHomeSeer-Connect Domain) of your HomeSeer system.
    3. Username and Password: Set these to your HomeSeer system's username and password.
    Android Settings
Ensure that you've already downloaded and installed the HSTouch app from the Android Market Place. On your Android device, open the HSTouch app and go into "settings".
