We're trying to roll the X10/Insteon devices that we have over to Insteon. So we got a 2413U and have installed 1.5.2, but are getting the above error. Any ideas? We're lost...

    Thanks,

    -KP

      Yes.

I actually just re-ran the updater and did upgrade to 1.5.2 and now get this new better error:

Insteon Plug-in Configuration - HYBRID PLC VERSION 1.1.52.1 In PLC/SDM Mode
      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

** You do not have the I/O interface enabled in HomeSeer **
Insteon functions are only available when the I/O interface is enabled.

** Unable to communicate with the Insteon powerline interface ***
Please make sure the interface is installed correctly and restart the plug-in.

And the Insteon line in the Interfaces page is now:

Insteon Insteon Configuration HSPI_INSTEON.dll 1.1.52.1 Error Initializing

      Thanks,

The Insteon Plugin is "Enabled", but showing an error.

Here's the line from the setup/interfaces page:

Insteon Insteon Configuration HSPI_INSTEON.dll 1.1.52.1 Error Initializing

You can't see the "Enabled" icon or the "Config" icon in the above, but if we click on Insteon Configuration or Config we're taken to the Insteon Setup page with the I/O error.

                      Duh.

                      From the documentation:

Restart HomeSeer and select the SETUP page from the HomeSeer main screen. Then
select the INTERFACES tab. Now click the DISABLED button under the “Other”
column in the Insteon row. This will enable the Insteon portion of the plug-in.

There's multiple interface types associated with the plugin, and you need to enable all you're planning on using.

                      Still having trouble though.

I turned off X10 support for the plugin and restarted and this is the mst current startup log info:

Apparently, the SDM can't find the 2413U. How is that fixed? The port seems OK in Device Manager. Although we didn't use any special drivers for it. There's a "Find PLC" command for the SDM icon in the tray, and after about 30 seconds, I get a"Port Not Found" error.

And we're still getting this on the plugin config page:

you are using the wrong build of the plugin for the 2413u. you need to use a PLM version.

If you are transitioning from the sdm/plc to the plm, you will need to use the 'swap interface' function once you get the correct plugin running.

the last free version of the plm plugin is 1.4.2 avail in the HS Updater.

The most current PLM plugin which requires a license is avail here

                          It's a 2413U v1.4 1045 from Smarthome.

                            It's working now.

                            Thanks.

We added a new appliance module manually, and could turn it on and off.

How can we best discover which devices we have can be operated with Insteon? It would be best to not have to walk around and unplug everything.

                            Thanks,

document your devices along with their address in excel.
