I go back to pre-HST too. I do think it is cause for celebration and a chance for HST to do some marketing. Given the technology changes of the past couple of decades and the chances of a small business surviving in the world of giants, HST is pretty amazing.

        Same here.

Kudos to Rich's Homeseer for his success in these last 20 years.

HST's success is a remarkable achievement!
I'm trying to think of another automation product that has lasted as long, let alone still leading its market.
After X10, which is clearly in decline, I'm having trouble. HAI Omni?

There is no combo security automation panel sold today that matches the features set of the Leviton Omnipro or Elk M1 panels.

I just use my panel as a multi protocol controller on steroids.

You want to chose a panel that does not require polling. It should be intelligent and push critical information to its automation clients (such as HomeSeer).

I have two ELK's and am very happy.

Here it was related to footprint and said Leviton HAI OmniPro hardware build (X2).

The methodology of the use of a serial bus today is still utilized in Planes and Automobiles. It has been a sure bet technology now for over 50 years. Newer technologies (say network and AI) still rely on the use of the serial bus for the mechanics.

I have gone to max capacity use of the serial ports and do have a 2 stacked zoned expanders (48 zones) over the main board and have added to the inside of the media can. Communications transport of polling here has never been an issue for me here going back to Homeseer 2 (when it was just a serial connection.)

I do like the modularity of the Elk M1 panel and there are minuses and pluses with both systems. As mentioned before the two systems have never been replicated.

Relating to my X10, UPB, ZWave and Zigbee controller connectivity the OmniPro 2 panel(s) are working just fine 100% of the time. IE: I have no issues today.
