Need hand holding trying to run event

I'm trying to run an event, and can't see to make it work.

My task is set up like this

    1. Say
    Text Attempting to run event

    2. Variable Set
    Name %HSCommand to Talk Test

Where the event name is Talk Test

the Say command works but the event doesn't trigger.

    Am I missing a step?

    Thanks
    Don

Yes. The IF part in the middle and the variable set would be first and the say stuff would be last.

    1 - name of event
2 - if part (whatever and I use manual to test)
    3 - say what?

Like so...looked up a test event here...

      Hi Pete;

I think I wasn't clear. I'm trying to get Tasker to trigger an event.

There is a more serious misunderstanding on my part of not having something right as I can not change a device either.

        Duh...

Apologies didn't see that you had posted under tasker plugin.

I could be wrong and thinking of something else but I believe you don't need to have any spaces in your HS event name. Rename it to Talk_Test or TalkTest, something like that.

Got it working, with much hand-holding by author.
