8 Way Wall controller not changing status

I have a HAI 8 button wall controller that I'm trying to use to turn on a flag in HS3. When I push button 1, there is no status change in HS.

The basic event says if Button 1 controller changes and becomes ON, then set goodnight mode flag on ON.

If I'm in HS and turn on the indicator light, it lights up on the controller just fine. So there is communication.

Any idea where to look?

could you set the log level to debug, and capture the logs when you press this button.

is this button associated with any Link in Upstart?
