    Plugin Crashing

Made this a separate thread. Been attempting to use your plugin but haven't found it stable enough for prime time yet no worries you said it was early days and my setup has quite a few devices.

Seems to crash after turning the lights on and off (about 4 cycles, and not done quickly)

    Test Case Setup:
    • 1 x v6 lamb bridges
    • 5x v5 RGBWW lights (2xGU10, 1xLarge 2xSmall)

    Not installed:
    • 2 x strip controllers RGBW and WRGB (not installed)
    • 1 x v6 RGBWW (not longer installed)
    • 8 v5 WWCW (manually controlled)
    • 2 x v5 controllers (back in the boxes)
    • 12 x RGBWW other house

HS3 Pro running on Linux RaspberryPI 2B running complete-mono.

Would be interested is the ability to control a second bridge with your plugin once it is usable/stable.
I tried a new instance of it but that doesn't provide a config so assuming controlling more then one bridge is a feature request? I have a shed that is far away

    Thanks.

    Update#1:
-Seems to be crashing but I cannot work out why. Example controlling a V5 light turns on but then if i hit a certain colour (white/red) everything stops working until I restart the plugin. Is there a way I can look at your plugins logs and do some diagnostics?

    Update#2:

Linux OS, LightBox V6 Bridge (limitless.com)

I set the bridge to TCP-Server 5987 also tried UDP 5987 - didn't seem to make a difference your plugin set to 5987.

After turning a light on and off about 4 times your plugin broke and I had to restart it. The it worked again for another 4 times.

I'm working on a update and cannot replicate your issues

I had this error "The socket is not connected" during the first test of creating the plugin and this was related to the network itself or sending a lot of command after each other, which seems to choke the bridge. That's why I put in this logging of the socket.

I must say that most of my testing is on windows, because I use visual studiio on windows.

I'll keep looking for a solution.

      Hi Rien,

Thanks for responding, perhaps I am having a Linux specific issue though it is a pretty minimal Linux install.

Do you have the facility to run up a VM in Linux and try it there?

Alternatively could I run a special exe from your that might log more information allowing some further diagnostics?

Let me know if I can help, is anyone else using Linux?

Hello Rien, thanks so much for your work on this plugin. I hate to reply to such an old thread, but I'm having the exact same issue @Cadal was describing.

Was there anything you could suggest on this? It seems sporadic, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I'm on Ubuntu Linux, nothing else on the server beyond HS3 and plugins. I've run TCPDump on the server while testing and when it throws those errors, it's not sending packets on the LAN at all.

I'm IT savvy with nearly 20 years in the industry so I'm happy to do any testing or provide you diagnostics if that would help.

I've got myself a brand new WiFi bridge as my last one was ancient, so this is supposedly newest, but I've found it's only responding to the plugin if I set it up as V5, not V6 as I'd expected.

One thing I'm not clear on, and maybe it doesn't matter, but what should the Wifi Bridge's network settings be configured as? It doesn't seem to matter in practice. I originally was using "TCP Server: 5987" but I noticed per the packet captures the plugin is using UDP 5987 so I chaned the Wifi Bridge's settings to UDP but no change in behavior.

Thanks in advance for anything you can offer.

End result for me @amikolajczyk is I switched to Windows for Homeseer Pro with a z-net, have the paid version of the plugin.

Couldn't get it to work, so using the free one from J00 (went back to V4 controllers). I have essentially given up and written this plugin up as a loss. Perhaps my controllers are weird (from limitlessled.com though) as the dev was never able to reproduce any errors.

At some stage I might just switch to Phillips Hue though j00's plugin works just fine so no hurry especially with the 25+ lights.
